2025 World Team Trials - Freestyle Wrestling, Newark, NJ
Spc. Adaugo Nwachukwu delivered a thrilling performance to defeat two-time World silver medalist Kayla Miracle in a dramatic best-of-three showdown at 62 kg. After a dominant 14-8 opener and a narrow 4-3 setback, Nwachukwu roared back with an electrifying 8-4 victory to seal the series and earn the opportunity to represent the Team USA at the 2025 World Championships.
2025 Pan American Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships, Querétaro, Mexico
Four elite Soldier-athletes from the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program delivered powerful performances for Team USA at the Pan American Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships in Querétaro, Mexico. Sgt. Alejandro Sancho (72 kg) and Spc. Kamal Bey (77 kg) dominated their brackets, each capturing gold. 1st Lt. Michial Foy (97 kg) battled to earn a well-deserved bronze, while Sgt. Ellis Coleman (63 kg) showcased grit and determination on his way to a strong silver finish. A proud showing of military excellence on the mat!
2025 U.S. Open and Greco-Roman World Team Trials, Las Vegas, NV
On 24-26 April, members of the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) Wrestling teams competed at the 2025 USA Wrestling Men’s Greco-Roman World Team Trials and Women’s Freestyle National Championships in Las Vegas, NV. The men's Greco-Roman team had a stellar performance winning four of the ten weight classes being contested for the U.S. World Championship team and runner-up honors in the overall team competition. The women's Freestyle team captured one national championship title and earned three USA Wrestling national team honors. The performances by WCAP Soldier-athletes continue to embody the Army’s motto: Be All You Can Be.
