SSG Deedra Irwin is a biathlete from Pulaski, Wisconsin, who found her passion for biathlon at 25. A professional Nordic skier with plans to retire, she attended a Talent ID camp hosted by US Biathlon and was hooked. This led to an international racing opportunity, culminating in joining the Vermont National Guard's Biathlon team in 2019.

As a Human Resource Specialist, Irwin balanced Army duties with her sport. Her journey has been marked by international success, including the 2022 Olympics, multiple top 10 results, and achieving her Olympic goals with the support of the National Guard.

It has been an honor to be able to represent my country as both a U.S. Olympian and a US Army Soldier. I hope to inspire the next generation to serve and represent our country too.
