CPT Kasey McCravey

Rugby Sevens

Hometown: Scottsdale, Arizona
High School: Desert Mountain High School
College: The United States Military Academy at West Point
Joined Army: May 2016
MOS: 92A, Quartermaster Officer

Kasey started late with rugby. A diverse high school athletic career brought her to West Point, where she played on the softball team, and eventually became team captain. During her senior year, she made a now-famous leap over a catcher that scored a run – and launched a viral video and earned her an ESPY nomination. Although she had never before played rugby, she an assistant coach of the USA Women’s Rugby Sevens team asked her to try out. She picked the game up quickly, and since joining WCAP trains full-time with the USA Women’s Sevens team at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center.

Being given the chance to lead and make an impact on people’s lives is the most humbling and rewarding feeling I have ever felt. I would not be who I am today without the Army and the United States Military Academy.

Career Highlights

2019 - 3rd Place, HSBC Rugby Sevens Series - Sydney, Australia
2018 - Nomination for an ESPY for jumping over a catcher during a college softball game
