After four years as a Division I basketball player at the United States Military Academy, 1LT Christopher Mann was searching for a way to continue competing while serving his country. In January 2026, he discovered team handball and quickly recognized the opportunity to pursue an Olympic dream through the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program. A Phillipsburg, New Jersey native, Mann credits his competitive mindset and athletic foundation from basketball for helping him transition to the fast-paced, physical sport. Inspired by watching his father's military service, he joined the Army to serve something greater than himself while creating opportunities for personal and professional growth. As a Signal Corps officer and WCAP Soldier-athlete, Mann embraces the discipline required in both military service and elite competition. He is driven by the opportunity to represent Team USA on the Olympic stage while proudly wearing the Army uniform.
